Ajwad bin Muhammad Syahren

AJWAD BIN MUHAMMAD SYAHREN is 12 years old. Born on 21 September 2012 in Kuala Lumpur. He attends government school in the Integrated Special Education Program. He has been diagnosed with symptoms of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as early as 2 years old. He is non-verbal and has shown classic symptoms of autism such as sensory issues and certain routine on his own. He is also identified as having apraxia. During his EIP that he also attended, one of the teachers with fine art background realized Adam's interest to paint.
Since then, he occasionally attended art session with freelance teachers in art studio and explore his potential. He also spends his time working with the canvas at home with family and on his own. He can be seen focusing very much with paint brush and independently choose his colour and combination of colours to be used. He also prefers brushes, especially big sized brush. His idea is mainly abstract seen as spontaneously orchestrated but will be immediately recognized as something unique, different and meaningful.
In 2023, Ajwad greatest achievement so far was to be selected for the first time to exhibit his paintings in the Art of Autism Exhibition where 2 of his favourite paintings were selected. He was also invited to participate in another Autism Art Exhibition later in 2024.
