Gerald Mohan Constantine

Gerald Mohan Constantine is a self-taught artist who has been creating art and recycled art as a hobby. Mesmerized by the upcycling movement, he began working with paper, glass and concrete since 2008. He was a top 10 finalist at the Penang Green Expo in 2012 with his pendant light creation made of glass bottles.

He rediscovered his passion for art 6 years ago and began exploring fluid art and mediums on different surfaces as well as working on art made of recyclable materials. He was featured in the December 2019 issue of THE EXPAT magazine and has participated in various exhibitions.

One form of art that Gerald is most passionate in is paper sculpture. Gerald has been making sculptures from receipts and other paper waste since 2019. Most receipts, especially the thermal type have BPA (Bisphenol A) which is seriously bad for the environment. He collects and saves all his receipts so that they don't not end up in landfills or incinerated where BPA may leach into the earth's soil, water and air. Turning them into beautiful paper sculptures is a win-win for the environment and the arts.

"What better way to save the environment than by making it into something beautiful like a sculpture." - Gerald Mohan Constantine
