Hana Khadeeja

Hana Khadeeja is a 14 year old secondary school student who suffers from social anxiety and selective mutism. She struggled to speak freely and has difficulty to socialise since she was a toddler.

Since speaking and making friends was not easy for her, she found peace and solitude in art.

Hana has always looked forward to attending her weekly art sessions with her art teacher since young, sitting quietly at a corner in the art studio sketching while her teacher once in a while guided her. In the last 2 years Hana has a freelance art teacher who occasionally come to the house to guide Hana and explore her potential.

She is passionate in drawing trees, animals in the wild and her paintings are mainly inspired by nature. She may appear demure and quiet but her art pieces are in bright and vibrant colours.

Hana first showcased 2 of her paintings at “The Art of Autistic” exhibition in 2023, in which one of the paintings was sold. Later in 2024 she participated in another 2 exhibitions locally. Her most recent achievement was participating in an international exhibition; a collaboration with an art studio in Jakarta Indonesia.
